Greta grew up in Pennsylvania, and began playing the cello in fourth grade. In high school, Greta studied cello with Nancy Baun of the Eaken Piano Trio, and in addition to performing in her high school orchestra and quartet she performed in the Dickinson College Orchestra, the Messiah College Orchestra, the Harrisburg Youth Symphony Orchestra and a string quartet at Dickinson College. Greta received a full cello scholarship to West Virginia University to study cello and music education. She studied cello with William Skidmore and performed in the WVU Symphony under Lawrence Christianson. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2002 with a bachelors degree in Music Education.

From 2002-2007 Greta taught string orchestra in Rising Sun, Maryland to students in grades 4-12. She enjoyed working with her students in lessons and full orchestra as well as on small ensemble music and solo repertoire. Her students performed in state and county events and competed at festivals in several different states. In addition to teaching in public school, she also coached a string quartet, taught lessons, performed in weddings and started a youth orchestra.
In 2007 Greta moved to Middletown, Delaware to start a brand new orchestra program. After 4 years, the program has grown to over 500 members in the district and become a successful addition to the music program. In addition to her private studio, Greta also teaches private lessons at St. Andrew's School. Greta has performed with the Newark Symphony, the Dover Symphony and has performs at weddings. Greta is also in an indie/folk duo- blue grey serenade. Their album- how to disappear is available on itunes, amazon and spotify.
